core beliefs

in the essentials  . . . we need unity.

but in all things . . . we need love.

every family has its unique characteristics and traits.  these traits are inherent in their genetic code and are passed down from generation to generation.  that is why you find there will always be peripheral docterines that committed Christians disagree upon, but the core beliefs of Christianity will always be non-negotiable.  our core beliefs are intended to be a basis of fellowship.  the following is a list of our core beliefs.

  • the Bible is the inspired Word of God
  • there is one true God
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God
  • the fall of man
  • the salvation of man
  • the ordinances of the church
  • the Holy Spirit
  • the church and its mission
  • the blessed hope
  • the final judgement

there is one true God and in one godhead existent in three persons; Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed, and function as one entity. Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh.  genesis 1:26; matthew 28:19; 1 john 1, 5:7

baptism in water. the Scripture teaches that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized by immersion. baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ. it is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. it is a declaration to the world that we have died to sin and have been raised with Christ to walk
in newness of life. matthew 28:19; acts 8:36-37; romans 6:4

communion. the Lord's table consists of two elements: the bread and the cup. those elements are symbolic
of the body and blood of Christ. communion is a memorial of Christ's sufferings on the cross and a celebration of our salvation. it is an opportunity for a believer to examine themselves and experience forgiveness.
1 corinthians 11:23-31; matthew 26:26-30

in the Holy Spirit and in the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the promise of the Father. all believers, according
to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ should ardently expect and receive this gift from God.  luke 24:49;
acts 1:4-8, 2:38, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 19:1-6; 1 corinthians 14:1-6

in the church and its mission. the church is the body of Christ, the inhabitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.  ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; hebrews 12:23

in the blessed hope of the soon second coming of Jesus Christ to gather all His saints to heaven.
